Meet our intern, Emily!

Advokate has two summer interns. Emily is with us courtesy of Upward Bound and we asked her to write about how the internship has gone. Emily is into unicorns, musicals and cartoons, is helpful in critique, and has worked up a few designs for our clients, which you can see below. You’ll see below that she’s hard at work with DeviantArt and Tumblr accounts.

She did some photography for us as well as graphic design projects, which you’ll see below!

Hello! I’m Emily Derrick and I am interning here through SUNY Adirondack Upward Bound’s Job Shadow Program. Sadly this is my last day here, but this experience has definitely been a good one for me. If I were able to extend this internship further, I definitely would.

I personally prefer drawing cartoons and designing/developing characters, though I still love digital art as a whole and I’m not too picky with what the projects are, which is why I am here. During the time I spent here I not only have worked on a few projects, but I have also met other people in my community who I may connect with in the future, which, if I stay in Glens Falls, could really help me out a lot.

Feel free to check out my DeviantArt page where I post personal illustrations and draw characters for others. I am also in the process of uploading my school artwork from last year to a Tumblr page where it will be available for anyone to see.

Here is some of the work I’ve done for Kate during my time here.
