And we’re off…

And we’re off!

For those of you just tuning in, Advokate owner/operator Kate Austin-Avon is nine months pregnant. The latest development is that he’s breech (stubborn little bugger). So now we’re talking about a scheduled C-section, likely for August 22, which is just exactly two weeks away.

I’ve still got a few bits and pieces left to finish up, but I’ve been wrapping up jobs in anticipation of a maternity leave that will last now through late October/early November. That’s right, folks: I’m starting now. It’s been a busy, ridiculous time standing on my head all day trying to flip this baby. Hard to do two things at once.

In the meantime, we’ve hired temp Hannah Joy (pictured, left) to field things. We’ve got a temporary hold on taking on new business, but Hannah can answer questions and help out existing customers should some crisis arise. And of course, we’ll be back! If you have something you need a little Advokating on and can hold tight, please drop us a line so we can be sure to be in touch once we’re back to full speed this fall.

For now, Hannah’s email address is temp@advokate.net and her voicemail box can be reached at 518-480-7151. She’ll be checking her messages every weekday morning.

Thank you for bearing with us through this blip in our service. Wish me luck with the parenting gig!
